PICTURES! 90% of the time, ads have no pictures. Just put something in there! Most of the bots on Craigslist don't put pictures up, and even fewer have developed the ability to put face pictures in. In most of my perusing of the ads, I'll immediately disregard an ad if it has no pictures unless it has....

A CATCHY TITLE or LOCATION! Think of the title of a book - when has a best-seller ever had a mundane "this is a plain old book" title? If you've got something creative to say, get it in the title and watch eyes get drawn to it. My personal favorites are those that are referencing some sort of popular media like movie quotes, song lyrics, etc.

GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION, and VOCABULARY! To be blunt, if you can't form words into a sentence don't expect too much. Intelligence, in my opinion, is one of the most attractive aspects of a woman, and obvious lack of proofreading or a 3rd grade vocabulary not only scream unattractive, but the majority of the bots on Craigslist sound like those cheesy mail-order bride advertisements, replete with the secondhand command of English (and even the accent, if your imagination is vivid enough). Not only that, but a sizable majority of the real ads on Craigslist all sound the same - we know you like outdoor activities, reading, music, and whatnot. Try talking about something unique and intriguing about yourself, such as your ability to play the guitar, your fixation on shoes or purses, your ability to pop a wheelie on an ATV, what have you. Also, some things I find very alluring are any passions, skills or hobbies you might have. A girl mentioned stamp collecting the other day and I thought that was one of the coolest things I've seen listed on Craigslist.

PROOF THAT YOU ARE REAL, and A CODE FOR US TO RESPOND! Make sure WE know YOU are real, and make sure you know the opposite. I find people who discuss things OTHER than the weather to prove they are real are pretty interesting people. Try current events in the news, how the Utes are doing, the Jazz, your favorite bar's nightly happy hour specials, what have you. Favorite things in the subject line of an email would be ideal for us to show you we are real.
